“A very pleasant experience…”
Marleton, New Jersey
There are a lot of contributing factors to how long we get to keep our permanent teeth. Tooth loss can happen for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is due to trauma, other times it can be due to disease or decay. Regardless of the reason, tooth loss is something that needs to be addressed in order to prevent further damage to oral health. Modern restorative dental procedures allow patients to regain their vibrant, beautiful smile after tooth loss. At Briglia Dental Group in West Chester, PA patients can trust our team to provide the best full and partial dentures that are an affordable and functional solution to restore your smile.
We often see patients from aeras of West Chester, West Goshen, Westtown Township, Downingtown, and Phoenixville inquiring about restoration options. Whether you need partial dentures, replacing a few missing teeth, or a full arch of teeth, we can assist you with your needs.
Dentures remain a top choice among patients because of their affordability. Depending on your unique situation, dentures can service as a temporary or permanent solution for tooth loss. Often, dentures are used in conjunction with dental implants for a stable restoration that functions as close to natural teeth as possible.
Many patients are skeptical about dentures because they still have the image of their grandparent’s false teeth in their head. The good news is dentures have come a long way in the past few decades. We make sure that only the highest quality materials are used to make sure that your denture appliance blends in naturally in your mouth.
Both partial and full dentures give patience the convenience of easy removal. This allows you to effectively clean the dentures and make sure you keep your mouth fresh and clean. If your dentures are supported by implants, they can easily snap in and out.
When Mark visited us, his teeth were in bad shape. We couldn’t save any of his natural teeth. We recommended that Mark replace his upper teeth with a denture, held in place by natural suction. For the lower teeth, we suggested a denture stabilized with four dental implants. The denture’s underside is designed with attachments that securely “snap” into a support bar affixed to the implants. This approach addresses the inherent challenges associated with full lower dentures; they tend to slip when patients eat and speak as there is no natural suction due to the anatomy of the lower jaw and floor of the mouth. Conventional dentures “sit” on the ridge or bony tissue that surrounds the tooth roots. They must be held in place with products such as denture adhesives. Plus, these dentures don’t keep the supportive bone strong. Within one year, 15% to 20% of the bone’s height and width will melt away. This destructive process continues indefinitely.
Mark loves his new smile! He just removes the dentures every night and snaps the lower denture back onto the implant bar the following morning. Since the implants are designed to replace tooth roots, the denture isn’t going anywhere. Bone remains strong and healthy and doesn’t melt away. Mark laughs, smiles, speaks, and eats confidently – no embarrassing slippage, and no messy creams – no hassle.
